Who Can Borrow

Delta students, faculty and staff as well as community members can borrow material from the Delta College Library.

How to Borrow

Bring your student ID and/or driver's license, state ID or passport to the front desk in the library to borrow material. Student's will have a barcode placed on your Student ID. This will act as your library card.

Interlibrary Loan

Request to borrow material from other libraries. It's Free! Interlibrary Loan is available when the Delta College Library collection does not offer the material you need. You can request books, articles, or other materials.

Interlibrary Loan is available to Delta college faculty, staff, and students.  Michigan residents not affiliated with Delta college may also use our interlibrary loan services. Patrons younger than 16 must have a parent or guardian initiate the interlibrary loan request.

All materials must be picked up and returned to the Delta College Library. Librarians reserve the right to determine how many items can be borrowed in totality. Materials belonging to other libraries cannot be placed on reserve.

Every attempt will be made to get the items you request. You will be notified if we are unable to obtain the items. Late, damaged, or lost material will result in fines and/or payment of the item. No replacement copy will be accepted.

Fines

Delta College Library is a fine free library. However, if an item is damaged or lost, the patron will be responsible for the replacement cost of that item. If a reserve items is lost or damaged, the patron will be responsible for the replacement cost of the item as determined by the specific academic department. 

Renewals

Items with a 21-day checkout period can be renewed one time if the item is not overdue or requested by another patron. Renew items in person at the front desk or online

Borrow from the Centers

Books can currently be requested to be sent to the Downtown Saginaw Center and the Downtown Midland Center. Requestors can place a hold on an item in the online library catalog and choose Saginaw/Midland Center as the location for delivery. For more information, visit the Library Book Delivery guide.

Valley Library Consortium (VLC)

You can search for material from over 60 area libraries by switching your search location in the online library catalog from Delta College Library to Everything. Request material by clicking the Place Hold button and entering your library card information. Materials will be delivered to the Library front desk for check out. 

Michigan Electronic Library (MEL)

Search for and request material through the Michigan Electronic Library (MEL) using their website. Request material by clicking on the request this for me link in the MEL catalog, select Delta College as your delivery location and enter your library barcode information.
