Finding your polling location

Can I register at the poll?

  • Yes you can register to vote at the polling place on election day (November 5th, 2024). However it is easier and safer to register earlier! Check out Delta Votes for help registering.

What is going to be on the ballot when I go to the poll?

How can I vote from home?

  • "All registered voters in Michigan can vote before Election Day using what’s called an absent voter (or absentee) ballot. You can vote by absentee ballot through the mail, without leaving your home. You can submit an application for an absentee ballot online, through the mail, or in person at your local clerk's office. After voting, you can then return your absentee ballot at your local clerk's office, your city or township's secure drop box, or in your early voting site or election day polling place. We recommend using the secure drop box or a polling place if you are returning a ballot within two weeks of election day, in order to avoid possible postal delays." - Michigan Voter Information Center

How to get an Absentee Ballot

When do I have to send in my ballot by?

  • Mailed absentee ballots from all voters, except military and overseas voters, must be received by the voter's local clerk by 8 p.m. on Election Day. Ballots not received by this time will not be counted. Voters are encouraged to mail an absentee ballot at least two weeks before Election Day to avoid potential mailing delays. Military and overseas voter absentee ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received within 6 days after the election.
  • If you cannot mail it in you can still return it in person to a drop box, clerks office, or polling place each need to be in by 8pm on election day November 5th

What is Early Voting?

  • Early voting allows a voter to cast a ballot before Election Day, in an experience similar to voting on Election Day. During the early voting period, voters are issued a ballot and can then insert their ballot directly into a tabulator at their early voting site

Where can I participate in Early Voting?

When can I participate in Early Voting?

  • The early voting period begins the second Saturday prior to Election Day and ends the Sunday before an election. However, communities may decide to provide additional days of early voting. Under state law, communities can offer up to 28 days of early voting. That will mean that for the November 5th election early voting will start on October 26th. There can be additional days so check with your local county government to see if there are additional dates.
