Civic Engagement Project Research Overview
This course includes an extensive research project that fulfills your college Civic Engagement credit. The following pages will provide information about conducting research for this project through the Delta College Library. College librarians are available to help you with research for this project virtually and in person.
Using Academic or Scholarly Sources
You need to use Academic or Scholarly sources for the historical analysis portion or your civic engagement project. You can search for scholarly journals, books and ebooks in OneSearch, the library discovery tool or specific individual library databases. The chart below shows the best library databases for scholarly historical research. Resources located in these databases will appear in OneSearch searches or you can search each database individually. I recommend starting in OneSearch, it's like Google for library stuff. You should limit your search results to Academic Journals, eBooks and Books (if you can travel to main campus or a Downtown Center).
