Database Citation Generators

Most library databases will generate a citation in a variety of styles that you can copy and paste into your bibliography. You should always check the formatting and style of these generated citations, but they will provide the necessary source information needed for your citations.

Here are some examples of different database generated citations:

JSTOR

Look for the Cite icon just above the full-text PDF of the source on the abstract page or next to the citation on the results page.

OneSearch

Look for the quotation icon at the top of an abstract page. You can generate a citation in various styles using the dropdown menu when you click the quotation. Copy and paste the citation into your document. I highly recommend emailing yourself a link to the article abstract page so you can get back to it (and the citation) if needed.
