My name is Jacob Nauman, and for the last 3 months I have been looking into how the Saginaw Township Schools (STCS) were budgeting for classes. I have found some things that I feel should be changed.
The first place I started on my search was the STCS approved budget records found on the STCS website. Here you can also see all the approved budget records from 2006 to present.
Looking through some of the documents on the webpage given above I found that there has been no addition funding for the middle school math and science classes in over ten (10) years, however, the athletics are getting over $700,000 in funding every school year.
In order to try to get this amended I was going to attend a budget meeting, unfortunately, due to COVID-19 I was not able to get into contact with anyone to find out if they are happening virtually, and open to the public. Instead I have written a letter that I will be e-mailing to the Superintendent of the school district. If you wish to e-mail him too you can do so by e-mailing Bruce Martin at dbmartin@stcs.org.
