Nursing Fundamentals Course Description

Delta Library’s Nursing Fundamentals library course is appropriate for students in NUR 101 or NPT 102 and teaches students the skills they will need to locate and cite credible sources for academic research on providing care to cultural groups. This course is available in asynchronous online format through eLearning. This course takes about 60 minutes to complete. 

This course covers the following topics: 

  • Evaluating information from the open web using CRAAP criteria
  • Using Google Scholar and setting up Library Links
  • Library Database Search Strategy
  • Using OneSearch, the library discovery system, to locate books, ebooks and journal articles
  • Applying filters to search results and using Interlibrary Loan
  • Searching PubMed and using Interlibrary Loan
  • Citing sources in APA style
  • Contacting the library for help
