English 112/113 Course Description

Delta Library’s English 112/113 library research course develops advanced research skills students need and takes about 45 minutes to complete in the D2L asynchronous course. In-person sessions are also available.

This course covers the following topics:

Using keywords review
Academic resources vs. Popular resources review
What is peer review and how do I find articles from peer-reviewed journals
Advanced database searching using OneSearch
Using a complex Boolean search string
Using limits in databases – advanced techniques
Using citation information in databases
Using interlibrary loan
Using Google Scholar
Using database document tools – advanced techniques
Accessing library resources on the Delta Library homepage and getting help from a librarian.
